The female Under-20 team have advanced to the second round of the African qualifiers following the withdrawal of Congo.

Ghana were billed to have played the Congolese in the first round after drawing a bye at the preliminary round in the qualifiers for a place at next year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

But the Black Princesses together with Zambia, Tunisia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe all advance to second round following the withdrawal of opponents.

The five sides will be joined by the winner of the clash between South Africa and Islanders Reunion.

Africa has two places at the competition to be hosted by Germany from July 13 to August 1, 2010.

The Black Princesses would have traveled to Brazzaville for the first leg on the weekend December 4 to December 6, 2009 before hosting the return game between December 18 and December 20, 2009.
