Competition at the top remains keen just as clubs in the bottom ranks also seek to play themselves out of their positions as the first round of the Glo Premier League comes to an end this weekend.

Saturday's action kicks off in Accra where Mighty Jets welcome strugglers, Berekum Arsenal, who are caught up in the relegation fight.

Asante Kotoko host the biggest of the Sunday fixtures. After taking control once again at the summit, having opened a two-point gap in midweek, Kotoko would be hoping to wrap up the first round of the competition on top of the standings.

Maxwell Konadu's side, following their impressive win over Liberty would return to the Baba Yara Stadium for the big game against Medeama.

Seven points separates Kotoko from Medeama ahead of their 3:00pm kick off game but the Porcupine Warriors are aware they have a number of clubs breathing down their neck.

Rivals, Hearts of Oak, are in second and will still be keeping the heat at the top with the visit of Heart of Lions to the Accra Sports Stadium.

Following their draw with Bechem, the Phobians will be under pressure to collect all three points as another setback could see them fall off the pace.

Berekum Chelsea might have rediscovered their form after winning the Berekum derby. The champions will host Aduana to the Golden City Park.

Chelsea are the league's second top-scoring side - second to Kotoko - but would find Aduana, who hold the competition's best defensive record, having let in just six goals so far, a tough opposition to crack.

All Stars after their blues in midweek return to the Wa Park to take on Liberty Professionals, who are also smarting from their defeat to Kotoko.

Tema Youth's resurgence would be tested at the Robert Mensah Stadium when they come up against Ebusua Dwarfs, who appear to have suddenly lost their guile.

New Edubiase, still missing Emmanuel Baffour will welcome AshantiGold to the Gyamfi Park as they attempt to push up the table.

The all-relegation battle at the Sekondi Stadium would see bottom side, Wassaman clash with third from bottom, Bechem United to conclude the pairings for the weekend.
