StarTimes Ghana Limited and the Ghana Football Association have agreed to call off the 2017 Star Times Gala.

The Gala competition, which has been on a sixteen-year hiatus, was scheduled to return this weekend after StarTimes Ghana Limited signed a ten-year agreement with the GFA as Headline Sponsor of the Gala, as well as Broadcast Sponsors of the Ghana Premier League, FA Cup, Division One League, Juvenile League and Women's League respectively.

The competition has, however been called off due to circumstances beyond the control of the two parties.

Startimes will remain the Headline Sponsor of the Gala, as well as Broadcast Sponsor of the Ghana Premier League, FA Cup, Division One League, Women’s League and the Juvenile football respectively.

The GFA will work closely with StarTimes and other stakeholders  for the re-introduction of the Gala competition next season.
