President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku visited the Black Princesses in training to reiterate the Association’s support and boost their morale ahead of the crucial encounter against South Africa.

“We've come here not to show our support, but to reaffirm it. We want all of you to know that everybody in the country is supporting you on this journey’’ he said.

“It also tells all of us and all of you how important this game means to Ghana. We know that the Princesses are a very good team. This we know.

“What we also know is that this team has never disappointed Ghana. This we know. It's the reason why on Sunday we'll all be very confident leaving our homes to come here and support you.

“The pitch you'll be playing on Sunday is the same one you're standing on. It won't be a different one. What that means is that whatever you're doing here, just carry it on to the D-Day, which is Sunday.

“And once you carry what you're doing here on this same turf on Sunday, we'll achieve the results that we want. Play with confidence, have the belief that the nation is behind you, the nation is supportive of you, and just play to win. Because we have to go to the World Cup.”

Ghana will host South Africa in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 8th 2026 at 15:30GMT.
