A great weekend is assured in the Glo Premier League as the fading title hopes of champions, Hearts of Oak and the quest for glory by AshantiGold will be put to test in the competition.

The season enters match-day-25 this weekend with eight games coming up on Sunday.

Both sides experienced mixed results in midweek with the Phobians at the receiving end, falling off the pace by three points after the Miners grabbed a win.

Hearts of Oak will engage Aduana Stars in battle between fourth and second on the table at the Ohene Djan Stadium as the Phobians trail the debutants by a point in fourth place.

The champions are still in search of a win after two games while Aduana appear to have rediscovered a bit of their first round form as the mount the pressure on leaders, AshantiGold.

Kessben FC were given an embarrassing football lesson on Wednesday at home when they lost to Edubiase 5-1, but coming up against another Obuasi-based side, Bashir Hayford’s side will be hoping to right the wrongs and bounce back against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium.

All Stars’ string of three consecutive victories has put them back in the top fourth but the Blues face a big test of continuing with their fine form when they travel to Kpando to reacquaint themselves with former boss, Mehmet Turkman who is now charge of Heart of Lions.

Fresh from their technical changes, an Asante Kotoko side without on-leave coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin will attempt to give new man, Johnson Smith a happy start when they play Real Tamale United at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

A draw will be regarded a good result for the new man but a win for the Porcupine Warriors will be an extra bonus.

Great Olympics will make the short trip to the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman where they will be seeking to plot their way out of the bottom ranks of the table against Liberty Professionals.

The Golden City Park will host the game between home team, Berekum Arsenals and another side fretting with relegation, Eleven Wise.

King Faisal will be looking to return to winning ways when Beechem Chelsea come visiting at the Baba Yara Stadium.
