The 2026/27 Premier League enters Matchday Six on Sunday, October 11, with several intriguing fixtures on the cards as teams battle for momentum, points and improved positions on the league table.
Hearts of Oak vs Port City FC
Hearts of Oak will be determined to end their three-match winless run when they welcome impressive newcomers Port City FC to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Phobians have collected eight points from five matches and remain unbeaten at home, where they have also kept two consecutive clean sheets. Their defensive record is the best in the league, with only two goals conceded.
Port City, meanwhile, have made an impressive debut in the top flight. The Kukurantumi-based side sit third with 10 points after three wins, a draw and a defeat, and head to Accra following a 3-1 victory over Bechem United.
Bechem United vs Debibi United FC
Berekum Chelsea will look to climb out of the relegation zone when they host fellow newcomers Debibi United FC at the Golden City Park.
Chelsea have managed just one win from five matches and suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Basake Holy Stars last weekend. However, they remain unbeaten at home this season.
Debibi United have endured a similarly difficult introduction to top-flight football, with three defeats from five matches. The debutants sit 14th with four points and have lost both of their away fixtures so far.
Young Apostles vs Aduana FC
Young Apostles face a difficult assignment against an in-form Aduana FC at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.
The hosts have lost their last three matches and sit 17th with just three points. They have scored only twice this season and conceded nine goals, leaving them desperate for a response on home soil.
Aduana, by contrast, have bounced back strongly from their only defeat of the season, winning their last three matches. The Fire Club sit fourth with 10 points and are unbeaten away from home, having kept clean sheets in both road fixtures.
Bibiani Gold Stars SC vs Basake Holy Stars
Gold Stars SC will seek a much-needed home victory when they entertain Basake Holy Stars at Duns Park.
The Miners have taken just four points from their opening five matches and are yet to register a point at home this season, losing both fixtures in Bibiani.
Basake Holy Stars arrive with renewed confidence after beating Berekum Chelsea 1-0 last weekend. They sit fifth with nine points, although both of their defeats this season have come away from home.
Bechem United will aim to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Port City FC when they host Vision FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
The Hunters sit 10th with seven points and have been formidable at home, winning both fixtures without conceding.
Vision FC are winless in their last four matches and have collected six points from five games. The Tema-based side will be looking to turn their recent run of draws into a first away victory of the campaign.
Medeama SC vs Heart of Lions FC
Champions Medeama SC will put their unbeaten start on the line against an in-form Heart of Lions at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.
Medeama lead the table with 11 points after three consecutive victories, including a 1-0 win over Debibi United last weekend. They have also won both home matches this season.
Heart of Lions arrive in confident mood after back-to-back victories, including a thrilling 3-2 win over FC Ashanti Gold ’04. The Kpando side have eight points and will be hoping to extend their improved away form after ending a 17-match winless run on the road in their previous away fixture.
FC AshantiGold 04 vs FC Samartex 1996
FC Ashanti Gold ’04 will welcome high-flying FC Samartex 1996 to the Len Clay Stadium in a meeting between two sides enjoying encouraging starts to the season.
The newcomers have won both home matches so far but suffered a 3-2 defeat to Heart of Lions last weekend. They sit ninth with seven points.
Samartex, meanwhile, remain unbeaten and occupy second place with 11 points, level with Medeama. The Timber Giants have recorded three wins and two draws and will travel to Obuasi looking to maintain their impressive start.
Karela United will look to return to winning ways when they host struggling Dreams FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Karela have six points from five matches and have relied heavily on their home form, with both of their victories coming in Tamale. They will also draw confidence from their strong home record against Dreams in recent seasons.
Dreams FC remain the only team yet to win this season. The Still Believe side have managed just two points from five matches and sit bottom of the table after three defeats and two draws.
Their away form has been particularly concerning, with defeats in both road fixtures. They will be hoping Sunday’s trip to Tamale finally provides the breakthrough they need.
