The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has elevated JoeSalam Abubakar to the position of Chairman of the National Juvenile Committee (NJC), taking over from President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku who served as the chairman of the committee since 2019.

Joe Salam Abubakar, President of Tema-based Division Two side Tema United FC, previously served as the 1st Vice Chairman of the NJC. His appointment reflects his dedication to grassroots football and his extensive experience in nurturing young talents through the juvenile football system.

He will be supported by Samuel Anim Addo as Vice Chairman of the NJC. Anim Addo, a former Executive Council member of the GFA, was previously the 2nd Vice Chairman of the committee and has long been involved in the development of youth football structures nationwide.

The newly constituted committee brings together experienced administrators and passionate advocates for grassroots football. Members include Michael Kwabla Fiaduse, a hardworking member of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and Chairman of its Juvenile Committee; Amidu Abdulai (Camarat), President of Namoro FC in Kumasi and member of the Ashanti Regional FA Executive Committee; Joseph Epton, owner and president of Division One League side Golden Kicks FC; Daniel Larbie Akowuah, International Relations Manager of Tudu Mighty Jets; and Ibrahim Musah Kessie, Vice Chairman of the Northern Regional FA.

The NJC plays a pivotal role in designing policies, organizing competitions, and overseeing the country’s juvenile football ecosystem, which forms the foundation for Ghana’s future stars. With JoeSalam Abubakar at the helm, the committee is expected to bring renewed energy, stronger structures, and innovative initiatives to enhance grassroots football.

The leadership of the NJC is to ensure Ghana continues to develop world-class talents, deepen the football pipeline, and maintain the country’s proud legacy as a football powerhouse.
