PLB introduces stakeholders meeting

The Premier League Board puts in place structures to help in the running of the Glo Premier League.

According to a PLB statement, the stakeholders' meeting will deliberate on measures to help improve the general organisation of the premier league.

2008/09 GLO PREMIER LEAGUE GENERAL COORDINATORS FOR LEAGUE MATCHES

For the smooth running, monitoring and organization of Premier League matches, the Premier League Board has categorized the matches into three groups namely, A, B and C.

‘A’ matches involve Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

‘B’ matches involve either Kotoko or Hearts against other clubs and

‘C’ matches involve pairings between all other clubs.

In the light of this the PLB has introduced stakeholders meeting to be organized for categories A, and B matches as well as some crucial category C matches. These meetings shall be organized at least a week to the match date for category ‘A’ matches and a day or two preceding the other category matches and would be chaired by the General Coordinator appointed by the Premier League Board.

Topics to be discussed at the stakeholders meetings are – Security, Medical, Emergency, Coverage of matches, ticketing and supervision.

Those expected to attend the stakeholders meeting are : the Police/Army; Ghana National Fire Service; Medical; Ghana Red Cross; St. Johne’s Ambullance; leaders of supporters groups of teams and Executives of the Home Team and the visiting team.

The Premier League Board wishes to appeal to RFAs’, RSDOs, the National Sports Council and the various Management Boards of clubs to assist in organizing the stakeholders meeting.
