Pearl Pia Ladies back to winning ways, Fabulous down Supreme Ladies, Ashtown beat Prisons – Northern Zone Review

Pearlpia Ladies FC bounced back from their disappointing 1 - 0 defeat to Ashtown Ladies last weekend with a 3 - 0 win over Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium on Saturday.

Coach Baba Nuhu Mallam’s side got the breakthrough in the 3rd minute when Abdul Rashid Faiza slotted home an individual effort. Kumasi Sports Academy had an opportunity to draw parity but Diana Afriyie missed the spot kick in the 6th minute.

The home side increased on the half hour mark through Iddrisu Fahima before Aoyem Ayisha Georgina added the third goal in the 90th minute to wrap up what was an eventful afternoon at the Aliu Maham stadium.

Elsewhere in Kumasi - Firdaus Yakubu and Asana Amidu scored as Ashtown Ladies beat Prisons Ladies 2-1 on Saturday. Both goals were scored in the first half before Abigail Tutuwaa reduced the deficit for the vistors as Ashtown Ladies held on to win 2-1 their third win on the spin.

In the Kumasi derby - Miracle Hayford climbed off the bench to score the equalizer for Fabulous Ladies in their 2-1 away win over Supreme Ladies.

Princess Owusu hit the nail in the coffin as she smashed home the winner in the closing stage to give Fabulous Ladies a 2-1 away win after going down in the first minute of the encounter.

The lanky attacker who was introduced in the 62nd minute for Millicent Obeng made an instant impact one minute later as she fetched a ball on the edge of the box before firing home to cancel Nancy Amoh’s early strike for Supreme Ladies.

The away side took the lead in the first minute through a spot kick after Joyce Atimbila was fouled in the box for Nancy Amoh to convert from the spot.

In other Results:

Ampem Darkoa Ladies beat Northern Ladies 1-0 at the Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman. Mary Amponmah scored the only goal of the match in the 31st minute to give the Northern Zonal champions a slim win at home.

FC Savannah will take on Dreams Ladies at the Aliu Mahama stadium on Monday, January 17, 2021.
