The Football Association, through the Ghana Football School and in collaboration with the University of Ghana’s Department of Physical Education and Sports Studies, will organise a Licence D Coaching Course at Legon from May 15 to May 22, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots football development across the country.

The week-long programme forms an important component of the GFA’s broader strategy to enhance coaching education and build a stronger football foundation by equipping aspiring coaches with the essential knowledge, technical expertise and practical skills required in modern football coaching.

Scheduled to take place at the University of Ghana, the course is expected to provide participants with foundational coaching principles, football methodology, player development techniques and key tactical concepts aimed at improving standards at the grassroots level.

A total of 40 participants have been selected for the training programme, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds within Ghana’s football ecosystem who share a common ambition to advance their coaching education and contribute meaningfully to the development of the game.

The Licence D Coaching Course serves as an entry point into formal coaching education under the GFA structure, offering participants an opportunity to gain the fundamental competencies necessary to nurture young talents and positively impact football development at the community and youth levels.
