Ghana's football home, the Ghana Soccer Centre for Excellence at Prampram on Wednesday hosted the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports to the facility.

For the Parliamentarians who were conducted round the 100 acre land by the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Kofi Nsiah, the visit was to abreast themselves with the operations of the FA's technical centre.

Kofi Nsiah said the facility provides the platform for the honing of players' skills, development and training of coaches, referees, administrators, education of sports science and serves the accommodation needs of the various national teams.

Further development is in the offing with the signing of the Fifa Goal IV Project last month by the GFA and soccer governing body, FIFA.

The Project would see to the construction of a football academy which would mark another milestone in FA's infrastructure development of the game.

The Parliamentary Committee led by Mr Stephen Ackah lauded the establishment of the Centre after inspecting the facility.
