John Paintsil has started life in the English Championship hopeful of adapting to the rigorous nature of the league.

The Ghana defender who made over 100 appearances in the premiership for Fulham and West Ham is now on the books Leicester City as the second tier side aim for promotion.

The Championship, noted for being tough and physically demanding represents a new start for Paintsil, who's debut came over the weekend in a 0-2 loss to Reading.

He says he can cope with the demanding nature of the Championship.

“I know how difficult the championship is. In a week you will play about three or four matches. It’s a long season but I am looking forward to it. I am not panicking but I will study it and do my best for the team,” Paintsil said.
