Goran Stevanovic and his Ghana players are hopeful of getting a result in Sunday's 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier in Brazzaville against Congo.

The crucial nature of the game has reached such heights due to the tight competition for places at 2012 Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana lead Group I with four points from two matches in the qualifying for the 2012 Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Many admit that the Black Stars would in for a real battle against a side who are just a point adrift them in the qualifiers.

Though the Black Stars are tipped, John Paintsil, explains that self-believe is important to achieving success but demands that Ghana must be determined and focused to get a result when they meet Congo in the third round of fixtures in the continental qualifiers.

Paintsil, one of the experienced and consistent on-field players who is available for selection under Stevanovic says the game is very crucial to Ghana's campaign.

“This match is a crucial one and we are taking it very, very seriously,” Paintsil told the GFA's official newspaper, Ghana Football.

“The plan was to win maximum points at home but after drawing with Sudan at home, there is the need to win away which makes this match very crucial."

Ghana, though confident, would be wary of the threat posed by the Congolese, especially as they would have the home crowd behind them in such a competitive fixture.

“We are determined to do well in Brazzaville and we are focused to achieve our target. It won’t be easy though because Congo is not an easy side. And playing at home they will even be more troublesome," the Black Stars full-back stated.

“But with determination and focus we will deliver. We are a strong team and with the right mental attitude I don’t see why we can’t win in Brazzaville.”
