Otto Addo has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the staff and management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Accra. He was speaking during a visit to the facility on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Addo, who was accompanied by members of the Black Stars technical team, praised the hospital's dedication to providing quality healthcare despite facing numerous challenges, including financial constraints.
"Big, big respect for what you have been doing the last year," Otto Addo said, stressing the hospital's remarkable work in serving the community, particularly those who struggle to afford medical care.
"This won't be the last time that we can find a solution to continuously support you. We really, really appreciate what this institution is doing for the people here in Accra. And we know that there are many people who even can't afford a lot of things".
"So, this was one of our thoughts to come here to get some good support. And also, to show ourselves, our faces here, to show appreciation for the work you have been doing. And we know that in general it's not easy, but especially here, as we are facing a lot of problems, also financial problems, but you still are human and you want to help others. It's a big, big job and a big, big responsibility you have".
"And we really appreciate all of you for what you have been doing. We don't take it for granted and we want the whole of Ghana to see and to support you".
"There are so many things also needed in this institution so we would like to encourage other people also to appreciate what you are doing first of all, so that they can come and support you," he added.
The visit by President Simeon-Okraku, Otto Addo and the Black Stars technical team serve as a reminder of the power of community support and the impact of collective efforts in driving positive change in Ghana's healthcare sector.
