Opoku Agyemang, Zuta score in Medeama SC win

Prince Opoku Agyemang scored on his return to the Ghana Premier League as Medeama SC recorded a 2-0 win against Techiman Eleven Wonders on match day 16 on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old who cut short his stint with SPL side Cape Town City was named in the starting lineup after missing Sunday’s clash with Elmina Sharks.

Prince opened the scoring for Medeama SC in the 27th minute as he latched onto a delicious pass from Burkina Faso International Amed Toure. Toure picked a through pass from midfield before laying the ball into the path of Opoku Agyemang to slot home.

The visitors recoiled to avoid an embarrassing score line making life difficult for Medeama as the first half ended 1-0 for the home team.

The two teams played a tactical disciplined game in the second half with Medeama being the hungrier of the two with some wonderful play from midfield to attack.

Rashid Nortey, Justice Blay and Akwasi Donsu combined in midfield to press the Techiman lads who kept their shape at the back. Medeama captain Joseph Tetteh who was a second half substitute scored in the 84th minute to ensure the three points were all but secured.

The nimble footed attacker, side footed a Rashid Nortey pass into the bottom corner for the match winner.

The win has lifted Medeama SC to the second spot with 26 points while, Eleven Wonders remain in 14th place with just one game left to end the first round of the League.
