Olympics produce wonderful win

Accra Great Olympics finally recorded a win after nine games but still stay bottom while Asante win to remain at the top of the standings.

Accra Great Olympics picked up their first win in nine matches after beating Gamba All Blacks 2-0 at the El-Wak Stadium.

And what a way to get off to winning start as Paa Joe Kumah scored the Onetouch premiership’s fastest goal, smashing in a shot just under a minute to the start of the game.

The Wonder Boys however failed to take advantage of their vulnerable opponents after the opener.

Great Olympics had to wait until the 82nd minute to put the game beyond All Blacks through the Michael Quaye. Despite the win, the Wonder club still stays bottom of the table.

The story was however different for another side from the capital, Accra Hearts of Oak, who couldn’t withstand the roar of the team at the dreaded Kpando Park.

A first half opener by Kwame Abadja and a second half goal from Kabiru Moro sealed the day for RTU.

Zaytuna FC were denied victory as King Faisal forced a 1-1 draw at the Carl Reindorf Park.

Frank Boateng put Zaytuna FC in the lead in the first half before Abedi Sarfo drew level from freekick in the second half.

At the Wa Park, home team, Wa All Stars managed a lone goal victory over Sekondi Hasaacas.

Defender Bright Addai scored the match winner in the 60th minute to give the Blues victory.

There were no goals at the Golden City Park, where Tema Youth forced a draw out of Berekum Arsenals.

On Saturday, Real Sportive have halted AshantiGold's three-game winning run with a 2-1 win over the Miners at the El-Wak Stadium.

All three goals on the day were scored in the first period of the game with the home side, Real Sportive jumping into the lead on the 19th minute mark when Ali Lukman connected a Yunis Kamil freekick.

But the Miners drew after ten minutes through Shaibu Yakubu, who finished off from a personal effort.

Sportive, however got their noses in front again when they restored their lead this time from the boot of Hamza Abdulai.
