Olympic team leave for France

The male Olympic squad, Tuesday morning departed the capital, Accra for a ten-day training programme in France.

National coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio and his backroom staff together with 22 players would continue with their preparations in the French city of Bastia.

The Black Meteors would play Bastia, the first European club of Michael Essien and also use the training complex of the French division two side.

Ghana would also play two other games against local sides for their build up ahead of their qualifying campaign of the All African Games with the Olympic team of the Ivory Coast.

The winner of the Ghana-Ivory Coast two-leg tie would play Nigeria in the final eliminator for the single Zone III ticket. Nigeria drew a bye.

The winner of the Ghana-Ivory Coast game would meet Nigeria in the final eliminator for the single Zone III slot for the 9th All African Games to be hosted by Algeria next year.

Ghana would host the Ivorians in the first leg next month.
