The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is pleased to announce the official rollout of the Youth Football Timeline, a comprehensive calendar of offseason youth football competitions set to take place from August to October 2025.
This initiative is part of our unwavering commitment to nurturing young football talents across the country and providing structured platforms for development.
Under the theme “Power to the Youth”, the timeline kicks off with the KGL U17 Colts Boys Inter-Regional Championship, scheduled for 4th to 10th August 2025. This competition will bring together the finest U17 talents from colts clubs across the country and serves as a key scouting and development opportunity.
Following this, the Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship will be held from 25th to 31st August 2025, continuing our efforts to spotlight the next generation of male footballers. Both tournaments are exclusively for colts clubs and reaffirm the FA’s vision to build a strong grassroots foundation.
From 19th to 28th September 2025, attention will shift to the maiden edition of the Second Division Elite U19 Championship, reserved for players selected solely from regional second division clubs. All ten Regional Football Associations will present their elite U19 squads, further strengthening competition and talent identification within our league system.
Women’s football development is equally prioritized, with two major championships lined up. The Elite U15 Girls Inter-Regional Championship will take place from 5th to 11th October, followed by the maiden edition of the Elite Girls U17 Colts Championship from 14th to 19th October 2025. These tournaments are crucial in expanding the talent pool for our national women’s teams and in promoting gender balance in football development.
The Association remains committed to building sustainable pathways for young footballers. The Youth Football Timeline is a strategic intervention designed to ensure consistent player development, scouting, and competition even during the offseason.
All the championships will be staged at the technical center of the Association, the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
