Nigeria coach, Samson Siasa is discounting the pressures of going into tomorrow’s game against Ghana, insisting his Super Eagles would play for pride.

Both countries renew their rivalry at Watford’s Vicarage Road Stadium in an international friendly, coming at the back of a 4-1 thumping in favour of Ghana, the last time the two teams played in 2007 in a similar game at the Griffin Park in Brentford.

Nigeria are hopeful of reversing a string of losses to Ghana, with new coach Siasia now in the seat.

“We would play for pride. What we have is a different team. We have made a lot of tactical changes and would see how it goes,” the Nigerian coach said.

“I think we have the confidence we need going into the game against Ghana. I don’t think, victory is all that Nigerians want. Ofcourse, it’s important.”

“We don’t want to lose. We only want to win and make Nigerians proud. Siasia says his side would not be under any pressure, with Ghana having won the last four meetings at the senior level.

“No, it doesn’t put pressure. It’s always a tough game against Ghana but it would be an exciting game. Nothing is impossible. We have a new team. Don’t expect what you saw the last time (4-1 defeat). It’s a new ball game.”
