The Ghana U-17 team, Black Starlets have departed Accra for Casablanca for training tour and two friendly games with their Moroccan counterparts. The team will be based in Morocco for one week where they will engage their counterparts in two separate friendly matches.

Although Ghana failed to qualify the 2021 Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations after crashing out of the competition following a 3-1 defeat to Cote D’Ivoire, the GFA has decided not to change the development plan of the team.

Coach of the side, Ben Fokuo will use the matches to prepare players especially the younger ones who are eligible to play for the U-17 next year.

It is also refreshing to mention that some U-15 players have been selected to play with their colleagues in the U-17 to prepare them ahead of the 2023 WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations.

That gives the development of the team two different outlooks, thus now and future.

This is the first trip for the Black Starlets since their recent adventure in the WAFU-B Under-17 Cup of Nations in Togo.
