Every player’s dream is to play for his country of birth and Seth Nana Ofori Twumasi is no different.

Though capped for England, the player harbours the dream of playing for Ghana.

Nana Ofori-Twumasi, a Ghanaian-born is a defender who is in his first season as a full-time scholar with Chelsea has been capped at England Under-16 level.

The defender, who is part of the Chelsea five young players who landed in Accra on Tuesday evening to begin humanitarian work for Right to Play, the club’s global charity partner says though a member for the English junior side, his doors for a call up still remains opened.

"I will rather play for Ghana because it's the dream of every footballer to represent his nation.

"But for now England is giving me that opportunity, but I will respond to an invitation from Ghana anytime it comes," says the Ghanaian-born defender.

Though out of contention for place in the Black Starlets, Ghana’s junior side, the young defender hopes he is considered for the U-20 squad and beyond.

"But my dream is to play for the Black Stars."

Even before earning a Ghana call up, Nana Ofori-Twumasi, a regular in Chelsea’s youth team hopes to break into the senior side and play alongside one of Ghana’s most influential players, Michael Essien.

And all the hard work would need to be done before his contract with the Blues run out with two years remaining.
