Mysterious Dwarfs continue perfect start with hard-fought win over Nsuopun Fidelity in Zone Two

Former Premier League side Mysterious Dwarfs continued their impressive start to the UMB Division One League campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Nsuopun Fidelity FC at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday.

The hosts got off to a flying start, taking the lead just three minutes in through a brilliant strike from Alhassan Adamu. Nsuopun Fidelity responded in the 21st minute when Seth Asamanyua found the equaliser to ensure both sides went into the break level.

After the restart, Dwarfs intensified their search for a winner and were rewarded in the 77th minute when Adamu struck again to complete his brace and secure all three points.

The victory leaves Mysterious Dwarfs top of the Zone Two table with nine points after Matchday Four.

Nations FC cruise past Elmina Sharks to protect  strong start

Former Premier League side Nations FC continued their impressive start to the UMB Division One League season with a convincing 2-0 victory over Elmina Sharks at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday.

Nations FC made their intentions clear early, taking the lead in the 11th minute through Daniel Lomotey. The hosts maintained their attacking pressure and eventually sealed the win in the 78th minute when Effah Joseph produced a fine finish to make it 2-0.

The win keeps Nations FC firmly in the hunt at the top of the Zone Two standings with eight points from four matches, just one point behind leaders Mysterious Dwarfs.

Sekondi Rospak end Pro-Sports FC unbeaten run with late winner

Newly promoted Pro-Sports FC suffered their first defeat of the UMB Division One League campaign after losing 1-0 to Sekondi Rospak SC at Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Saturday.

Pro-Sports had enjoyed an encouraging start to their debut season, remaining unbeaten in their opening three matches before their run was halted by a determined Sekondi Rospak side.

After a goalless first half, both teams battled for the breakthrough in a closely contested encounter. The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time when Kingsley Amoah struck in the 93rd minute to hand Rospak a dramatic victory.

Centre-back Ernest Arhin was named Player of the Match for his impressive defensive display.

Despite the defeat, Pro-Sports FC remain third in Zone Two with seven points after Matchday Four, just two points behind leaders Mysterious Dwarfs.
