Sulley Muntari would not be rushed back from injury ahead of Ghana's upcoming matches against Congo and England in three days.

The Black Stars play Congo on Sunday in the crucial 2012 African Nations Cup qualifying in Brazzaville and then take on England's Three Lions on Tuesday in Wembley in an international friendly.

Muntari limped off with the leg injury early in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last Sunday but turned up in the national camp in Kenya with a calf injury. He has not trained as officials aim to nurse him gradually to full fitness.

The player told the AFP on Wednesday that he would have to receive the all-clear from the Black Stars medical team to play.

"I am feeling some pain. I have to see the team doctor to certify whether I would be able to play or not," Muntari said.

"Even if I don't play in Congo, it is important to be with the team at this time."

Ghana lead Group I with four points from two matches in the qualifying for the 2012 Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
