Black Starlets Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has named a strong starting lineup for Ghana’s opening Group D clash against Algeria at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat.

Dr. Ogum has maintained consistency in goal with Solomon Kwame Kesse keeping his place between the posts as the Black Starlets seek a positive start to the tournament.

In defense, captain Mujahid Osman will operate at right back, while Issah Abdul Rafiu takes up the left back position.

At the heart of the defense, the much-talked-about “Twin Wall” partnership of Essau Kofi Kpoeti and Jacob Kofi Kpoeti will once again anchor the backline. The twin center backs have become one of the team’s biggest strengths with their chemistry, composure, and leadership at the back.

The midfield trio will consist of Isaac Barfo, Michael Nyantakyi, and Mark Kagawa Mensah, as Dr. Ogum looks for balance, creativity, and control in the middle of the park.

Leading the attack for Ghana will be Mark Aboagye, Eric Adu Gyamfi, and Robinho Yao Gavi, with the trio expected to provide pace, movement, and attacking threat against the Algerians.

The Black Starlets head into the game full of confidence after weeks of intensive preparations in Morocco, including friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Mali.

Dr. Ogum and his technical team will be hoping the selected side can deliver a strong performance and secure all three points in what promises to be a competitive opening fixture at the continental championship.
