Eastern Region continued their impressive run in the ongoing MTN Elite U19 Championship with a narrow 1–0 victory over Brong Ahafo on Matchday 3, extending their perfect record to three wins out of three at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

A well-taken free kick by Bawa Mahdi in the 55th minute proved decisive, sealing all three points for the Group A leaders and preserving their unbeaten streak in the Division Two Championship. The win puts Eastern Region six points clear at the top of the table, underlining their dominance in the competition.

In the day’s final fixture, Volta Region emerged victorious over Central Region in a dramatic penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw in regulation time. Nathaniel Adanu gave Volta the lead in the 55th minute, but Yaw Yeboah Dasman equalised in the 74th minute to force the shootout. Volta held their nerve to win 5–3 on penalties, securing two valuable points and strengthening their position in Group B with five points from three matches.

Running from October 23 to November 2, 2025, the MTN Elite U19 Championship features ten Regional Football Association (RFA) U-19 teams from across Ghana. The competition serves as a vital platform for the country’s most promising young talents to showcase their abilities, gain invaluable experience, and attract the attention of national youth team selectors and professional scouts.

Proudly powered by MTN Ghana, the tournament reinforces the Ghana Football Association’s commitment to youth football development, providing a structured and sustainable pathway for emerging players to rise from the grassroots to the national and professional levels.
