Central Region’s Desmond Korlettey continued his remarkable form at the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship, claiming his third Most Valuable Player award after another outstanding performance in his side’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Upper East Region.

Korlettey was once again at the heart of Central Region’s impressive display in Saturday’s opening Group B fixture at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The talented forward delivered a dominant individual performance, scoring twice to inspire Central Region to a comprehensive victory and further underline his growing influence in the competition.

This is his third Most Valuable Player award of the championship, having previously been crowned MVP in Central Region’s matches against Greater Accra Region and Northern Region.

In the second Group B fixture of the day, Osafo Antwi also earned the Most Valuable Player accolade after playing a key role in Brong Ahafo Region’s commanding 5-1 victory over Greater Accra Region.

Antwi produced an influential performance as Brong Ahafo, last year’s losing finalists, continued their impressive form in the championship with another emphatic result.

The talented youngster found the back of the net and played a central role in Brong Ahafo’s attacking display as they overwhelmed Greater Accra to secure a convincing five-goal triumph.

His performance earned him the deserved MVP award and added another memorable chapter to an exciting Matchday Four of the competition.

The championship remains an important platform for some of Ghana’s brightest young footballers to develop their technical and tactical abilities while gaining valuable competitive experience that can contribute significantly to their growth and future careers.
