After missing the chance to play in the finals, Ghana coach, Claude Le Roy says the team has to be motivated for the third place game of the African Cup of Nations on Saturday.

Ghana play Ivory Coast at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi after both sides lost their semi-final matches on Thursday.

The Black Stars, who looked the better side of the evening at the Ohene Djan Stadium were stunned by a second half Cameroonian goal that ended hopes of a fifth title attempt.

And as the team prepares for its last game of the tournament, Claude Le Roy says Ghana would be ready to play the third-place game against Ivory Coast.

“We tried to win this game, but Cameroon had one chance and they scored. We are very disappointed today.

“I congratulate them, but I do not think they deserved to win. That is football and now we have to motivate ourselves to play the third place match,” Le Roy said.

The third-place game comes up a day before the finals which would be played in Accra.

The match would be the first time in 12 years since both sides met at the Nations Cup. Ghana won the last meet between both sides 2-0 during the 1996 Nations Cup hosted by South Africa.

Holders Egypt will play now play Cameroon in the African Nations Cup final on Sunday.
