Moro Sumaila scored a hat-trick to give Ebusua Dwarfs a famous 4-1 win against Karela United at the Nduom Sports complex at Elmina Thursday afternoon.

The match day 31 fixture which was originally scheduled for CAM Park at Ayinase was moved to Elmina due a temporary ban of the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

Moro Sumaila opened the scoring in the 12th minute after he was set up by Ishmael Antwi. The Crabs increased the tally four minutes after the break – with Moro getting on scorer sheet again. Coach Kuuku Dadzie’s side netted the third goal through substitute Enock Afram whose close range effort found the bottom corner in the 67th minute.

Karela United reduced the deficit in the 78th minute with a goal from Kamaradini Mamudu – who connected a pass from midfielder Umar Bashiru to beat goalkeeper Bright Quaye.

With nine minutes left on the clock, Ebusua Dwarfs dashed any hope of a comeback by putting the game to bed in the 81st minute. Moro Sumaila scored his personal third to complete a hat-trick to ensure they claimed all three points to keep their survival hopes much alive.

Karela will travel to Sogakope to take on Liberty Professionals on Sunday with Ebusua Dwarfs set to face leaders Hearts of Oak in Cape Coast.
