Minister asks participants to lead game's development

Ghana's Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports has praised FIFA for its continuous support to aid Africa's development of the game.

Nii Nortey Dua, on the opening day of the seminar for General Secretaries and Technical Directors in Accra on Monday said the contributions of FIFA has improved various areas of the game locally and tasked participants to help push the sport to the next level.

According to the Deputy Minister, the seminar which will deal with key areas like Administration, Coaching, Refereeing and Sports Medicine is timely as the continent strives to improve.

He expressed the conviction that the issues to be discussed at the seminar will go a long way in enhancing the capabilities of the participants in their work.

The Deputy Minister also commended FIFA for the confidence reposed in Ghana to host the historic seminar.

17-member Associations on Monday commenced the seminar.

The course, a joint partnership between FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is aimed at discussing modern managerial skills of the General Secretaries as well as refresh the technical abilities of the Technical Directors.
