Ghana stutters in the men’s football event at the 9th All Africa Games as the Black Meteors lose to Cameroon in the opening Group A game on Tuesday.

The Black Meteors looked the better side of the afternoon dominated possession for longer spells of the first half but could not find the back of the net.

Both sides playing cautiously ended the first half 0-0 at the Boumerdes stadium.

Back from recess, the game occasionally switched from one end to the other but the Cameroonians managed to profit from one of such attacks as Christian Bekamenga put them in the lead.

Minutes after the opener, Kwadwo Asamoah failed to level up for Ghana as his weak connection to a pass from Prince Tagoe could not find target.

Ghana, though losers in the opening game are still tipped as one of the favourites to win gold at the Games.

The Black Meteors would be up for duty on Friday against South Africa in the second Group A match while Tunisia battle Cameroon in the other game.
