Deputy Black Stars captain, John Mensah has been passed fit for Wednesday’s finals against Benin in the Zenith Bank 4-Nation International Tournament after picking up a knock on Sunday.

John Mensah did Monday morning’s light training session with his teammates and was hand to go the entire mile during Tuesday morning’s workout at the El-Wak stadium.

Ghana coach, Claude Le Roy on Monday told the FA’s website, www.ghanafa.org, that the RC Rennes defender is fit and ready to play.

“No. He was training this (Monday) morning. It was a kick, you know it’s very painful during some few minutes.

“But in that kind situation it’s very bad to let the player play to stretch a bit more muscle but this morning everything was okay.”

The defender picked a knock late on in Ghana’s opening game against Togo on Sunday.

Mensah was treated and went onto the field for finish off the game but the pain recurred and was readily substituted as Ghana went on to win 2-0.
