Deputy Black Stars captain John Mensah was back in action for Olympique Lyon in his side’s 2-1 Champions League win away at Fiorentina.

It was only Mensah’s fifth game for the French champions and his second in the Champions League since his 8 million Euro move that has been ravaged by injury.

The Ghana defender was posted at right back for the French side on his return to Italy and came through 90 minutes of a reverting encounter.

Mensah spent a month on the sidelines after he was carried off before the end of a league game against Lille.

He will now be hoping his return to action will not be interrupted anytime soon again.

And Lyon will be desperate for him to stay fit after losing French international defender Anthony Reveillere for the rest of the season.
