Medeama have stated their commitment to ensuring that crowd violence is stamped out of football after disassociating themselves from a comment inciting their fans against Berekum Arsenal.

Their actions comes after Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi demanded of clubs in the country to play a leading role in eradicating hooliganism from the game.

Medeama have welcomed the advice after acting on the conduct of their Operations manager, John Kudjoe, who had in an interview rallied the club's supporters to deal with Arsenal officials when both clubs play the return league match on Sunday 1st April 2012.

This follows an alleged attack on Kudjoe by fans of Arsenal in November 2011 in Berekum.

"Management will like to put it on record that even though we are not happy with the way the case has been handled by the Premier League Board and the GFA in a broader view, we also do not accept the conduct of Mr. John Kudjoe and have ordered him to retract his statement through the same medium or face the wrath of management.

"We would also like to say that Medeama SC does not believe in violence and as such will like all officials and supporter to behave professionally when we host Berekum Arsenals on Sunday 1st April 2012," a club statement read.

The game in Ghana has witnessed pockets of crowd violence recently but the GFA has moved to deal with it by instituting stringent security measures.
