Berekum Chelsea maintained their unbeaten form of the season with another giant killing victory as they pipped AshantiGold SC 1-0 at the Len Clay stadium on Saturday.

The win is the Blues' very first over the Gold and Black outfit in Obuasi in the premier league since their promotion in 2009.

David Abagna Sandan and Razak Simpson were handed their first starts of the season as they replaced injured duo Mark Agyekum and Musah Mohammed respectively for the home side.

Shafiu Mumuni who is on his way out of the club made way for Benjamin Eshun

Berekum Chelsea made no alterations in their squad that beat Dreams FC 1-0 in the midweek.

The home side had the first scoring opportunity of the game but Emmanuel Owusu headed wide a cross from Amos Addai after an excellent run on the flanks on the 12th minute.

AshantiGold came very close again twelve minutes later when Owusu's header hits the crossbar from another Addai cross from the left.

The visitors first threat of the game came in the 51st minute as Jonah Attuquaye's effort missed the posts by a whisker following a beautiful one-two with Kofi Owusu.

Two minutes later Owusu pounced on huge blunder by goalkeeper Frank Boateng to get the match winner.

The Miners made efforts to come back in the game but all proved futile.

Berekum Chelsea go top of the league table with that giant killing victory.
