The second round of matches in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League kicks off this weekend across various League centers. In the southern zone, leaders Hasaacas Ladies will aim to bounce back from their loss to Faith Ladies as they lace up against old foes, Berry Ladies at the Madina Astro turf in one of the fascinating ties in the Women’s Premier League calendar. Second placed Faith Ladies will host Soccer Intellectuals at the Carl Reindolf Park. Here is what to look ahead to on Match Day 10.

FAITH LADIES VRS SOCCER INTELLECTUALS.

Having won their last game against Hasaacas Ladies on Matchday 9, Faith Ladies will capitalize on the win to secure another vital victory as they engage Soccer Intellectuals at the Carl Reindolf Park. Faith Ladies appear the better side on paper taking into consideration their current form. Soccer Intellectuals, have managed two wins, two draws and five losses in their last 9 League matches and sit in 8th place in the Southern Zone table with 8 points – 6 points ahead of the bottom club. Faith Ladies would heavily rely on goalkeeper Mary Neequaye who has been impressive thus far, as well as Maafia Nyame – a back-to-back NASCO Most Valuable Player winner. A win for the host will take them to the summit of the League and boost their title charge while the visitors will be hoping to get a good result to heighten their chances of survival.

BERRY LADIES VRS HASAACAS LADIES

Rejuvenated Berry Ladies will welcome to old foes, Hasaacas Ladies to the Madina Park as the second round of the season continues this Saturday. Berry Ladies secured back-to-back wins in their last two matches to move from 8th to 5th while the visitors, come into this fixture fresh from a slender defeat to Faith Ladies last weekend. The spotlight will be on Berry Ladies new signing, Rahama Jafaru who once played for Hasaacas Ladies. She has been a bright spot for her new side scoring one and providing three assists. Six points separate the two sides as Berry Ladies have a deficit of 6 points after nine round of matches. Hasaacas Ladies were the victors when the two-sides met thanks to a 79th minute strike from sensational Doreen Copson.
