New Hearts of Oak coach C.K. Akunnor was left disappointed after his maiden game in charge of the club ended up in defeat in the Accra derby.

The Phobians were beaten 1-0 by Liberty Professionals on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium with Kwame Boahene scoring the winner as the ex-Ghana captain made his debut as coach of the club.

Akunnor's reaction in the post game interview revealed the burden of frustration after just a game in charge.

Defeat has seen the Phobians slip on the standings from second to fourth and 12 points behind leaders, Asante Kotoko, with nine games left in the season.

Akunnor, who just assumed the reigns last Thursday was not even thinking about losing to Liberty on his first day.

"Yes. Ofcourse I am very disappointed with the result," a distraught Akunnor said after the game.

"You don't have to ask me if I am disappointed. Every person would be disappointed to lose a game."

Despite the pressure, he has to work with the squad inherited and attempt to turn things around when Hearts travel to the Agyemang Badu Park to play Aduana Stars on Sunday.
