AshantiGold coach Zdravko Logarusic says he possesses enough quality to win the Miners' fourth premier league title.

The Miners' last trophy success came in 1996, when they completed a run of three successive league titles beginning in the 1993/4 season.

After guiding the Miners to a second place finish last season, the Croat is hoping to deny Berekum Chelsea's ambitions of a second consecutive league title.

Logarusic has boosted his ranks with some additions and expects his side to challenge for the title.

“I have a very strong squad and this season, fans will see a different AshantiGold because we’ll be fighting for the title,” the Croat said.

AshantiGold picked four points from their opening five games last season and Logarusic is determined to improve on that start by getting off to a flyer when their campaign starts with a home game against Ebusua Dwarfs on October 9.

“We didn’t start well last season and only got our spark on in the second round of the league. But we hope to start on a positive note this time around and make a meaningful impact.

“The new players have fit into the system well and so I remain optimistic about our chances this season.”
