Heart of Lions lifted the Top-4 tourney on Sunday, winning against King Faisal in Kumasi.

Even before going into the final day match, the Kpando-based side had sealed the title but still displayed another impressive form as they capped the day with a 3-0 result.

After a goalless first half, Lions jumped into the lead at the Baba Yara Stadium, five minutes into the second half when Edmund Owusu-Ansah put them ahead.

Lions piled on the pressure and claimed their second through Bright Nsiah in the 62nd minute.

Two goals down and Faisal threw more men forward in search of a goal. They came close but Lions goalkeeper Stephen Ahorlu kept his side's lead intact.

The home team's hopes of turning the game around was ended in the 83rd minute when a close range shot by substitute, Daniel Acquaye deflected off the boot of Faisal's Yakubu Issah into the post.

Lions finished the competition with 16 points, eight clear of Faisal who came second.

There was relief at last for Asante Kotoko in the other game as they ended their poor run.

Kotoko had to wait until the last day to win their first game of the competition and it came against rivals, Hearts of Oak at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors, reduced to ten men following the dismissal of captain Osei Kwame in the 64th minute run away 1-0 winners over Hearts with substitute Kwabena Yaro scoring the goal.

Yaro slotted in from close range after Hearts goalkeeper, Laud Quartey had a spilled a free-kick.

The win ended Kotoko's five-match winless run though they still finished bottom of the table with Hearts placing third.
