Leaders Aduana FC square off with Hearts of Oak at Dormaa

League leaders Aduana FC will be tussling with former champions Accra Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa on Sunday. The Ogya lads have set sights on the points to maintain their position at the top of the table - with the loss to Accra Lions still fresh in their mind.

Aduana FC currently occupies the top position with 21 points after 12 Matchdays, having won 3 and lost 2 in their last 5 games - the 5th club with the most points in the last five league games (9 points).

Despite failing to pick a point in their last 2 games against Karela United and Accra Lions, the Ogya Boys are strong in Dormaa with an incredible home record having won 5 of the 6 home games, scored 13 and conceded 4.

Hearts of Oak after matchday 12 have lost twice against Real Tamale United and Bofoakwa Tano and are unbeaten in their last 9 games. The Phobians sit 7th place in the league table with 16 points. Hearts of Oak ended their 15 away games unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory over Accra Lions in matchday 11 and will be aiming to grab a consecutive away win.

Elsewhere - Bofoakwa Tano who have been banned from the Sunyani Coronation Park will host FC Samartex 1996 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Bofoakwa Tano are 10th in the league table with 16 points having won 1,  drawn 3 and lost 1 in their last 5 League games.

Bofoakwa Tano are unbeaten at home in the 2023/24 season after winning 3 and drawn 3 in 6 home games - scoring 5 and conceding 2 in the process.

FC Samartex 1996 on the hand boast 3 wins, 1 draw 1 and 1 defeat in their last 5 away games and are currently 3rd in the league table with 20 points. The Timba Giants are yet to record an away victory since the start of the 2023/24 season, but remains the only team with the longest winning run at home (6).

Baba Hamadu Musa has been absolutely sensational for the side since his summer move from Skyy FC - having played in all the games and scored 5 goals for coach Nurudeen Amadu’s side. Bibiani Gold Stars will battle Nsoatreman FC at Dun’s Park. The hosts have yet to win a game in 8 Premier League outings - resulting in the dismissal of Michael Osei.

GoldStars FC have won 2, drawn 3 and suffered 1 defeat at home in this season’s campaign, having scored 9 and conceded 6.

Nsoatreman FC have won 1, drawn 2 and recorded 2 defeats in their last 5 games and are currently 2nd in the league table with 21 points. The Nsoatre side have recorded only 1 away win in the league and will be looking forward to snatch all the points from GoldStars FC who despite their dip in form, have lost just once at home.

GoldStars FC have hosted Nsoatreman FC once at Dun’s Park since making their debut in the 2022/23 season with Micheal Osei’s side winning 2-0.

Still on Sunday, Accra Lions will be looking for their second consecutive league win against Nations FC at WAFA Park in Sogakope after defeating Aduana FC for the first time in Dormaa.

Accra Lions managed a narrow 1-0 victory against Aduana FC on Matchday 12 and will be hoping to improve on their performance against newly promoted side Nations FC who have won three consecutive games after picking victories over Hearts of Lions, GoldStars and Karela United.

Accra Lions sit 12th in the league table with 16 points having won 3, drawn 1 and suffered 1 defeat in their last 5 matches. Nations FC are currently 5th in the league table with 17 points having won 4 and suffered 1 defeat in their last 5 games.

Midfielder Barimah Baah and Asamoah Boateng Afriyie have scored 3 goals each in the league will lead the lines for Nations FC with the likes of Prince Acquah, Emmanuel Agyemang, Emmanuel Boahene, Amidou Diarra, Victor Oduro, Nafiu Sulemana, Sadiq Alhassan and Rabin Sanon all ready for action.
