Ghana coach, Claude Le Roy has tasked organisers for the African Cup of Nations to take another look at the timing of the third-place playoff match.

The match which comes off on Saturday is just two days after both Ghana and the Ivory Coast played in their semi-final matches on Thursday.

Le Roy, unhappy with the schedule says it hinders preparations as there is little time for recovery after such a difficult game.

“I don’t understand this situation. It makes it so difficult to work with the players after a big game,” the Ghana coach said.

“I think something has to change. There is no regeneration in 48 hours.

“It (match time) has to change. The people who control the game in Africa will have to change it. Maybe it has to be played some hours before the final. They have to show some respect to the players.”

Ghana and Ivory Coast will vie for the third-place playoff at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi while the finals of the tournament is played on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
