Ghana coach Claude Le Roy will use his side's friendly against Senegal to take a closer look at the talented youngsters he expects to form the Black Stars' next generation.

The Frenchman has called up Marseille's Dede Ayew, Mario Barwuah of Inter Milan and Nice's Yahaya Mohammed and will give the promising trio their debuts in London on Tuesday.

Le Roy is in the fortunate position of having an established group of senior players who will form the nucleus of the team in January's African Nations Cup.

So Ghana's first match since March's defeat against Brazil gives Le Roy the ideal opportunity to experiment, while also securing the futures of two players coveted by other countries.

Ayew, son of former Black Stars captain Abedi Pele, could have played for France, while Barwuah, a 16-year-old striker, is eligible for Italy after being born there to Ghanaian parents.

"We are not only building a team to win the Nations Cup next year but we want to qualify for the 2010 World Cup and beyond," Le Roy said. "In these young players we have the future in our hands.

"These young players Ayew and Barwuah are with the first-teams of world class teams like Marseille and Inter Milan and they are playing.

"How many youngsters in the world have this chance? This shows that the players have huge potential."

As well as his young guns, Le Roy also welcomes back Chelsea's Michael Essien, Junior Agogo and Joe Tex Frimpong after injury for the match at Millwall's New Den. Razak Pimpong returns after nearly a year out of favour.

The west Africans' captain Stephen Appiah is unlikely to feature due to a knee injury but the Fenerbahce star wants to join up with his team-mates regardless.

Appiah's gesture is the kind of team-spirit for Ghana will need when they try to win the African Nations Cup for the first time since 1982.

The Black Stars have to deal with the double-edged sword of hosting the competition. A good start will generate the kind of momentum that can carry a team to the final, while an early defeat can have a disasterous impact on players and fans' morale.

Senegal coach Henri Kasperczak will use the match as preparation for his side's African Nations Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on September 8.

Premiership stars Diomansy Kamara and Pape Bouba Diop of Fulham and Bolton's El-Hadji Diouf have all been included in Kasperczak's squad.
