Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy would remain at the helm of the Ghana job after receiving the backing of his employers, the Ghana Football Association.

The Ghana Football Association today explained that it was fully supportive of the Black Stars coach following Ghana’s failed bid for a fifth Nations Cup title.

Ghana fell at the semi-final stage of the African Cup of Nations from a lone goal victory by Cameroon and just minutes after the game, the spotlight was cast on the Frenchman’s future with the Black Stars.

However at a press briefing on Friday, FA spokesperson, Randy Abbey says the coach has the backing of the entire Ghana Football Association and its President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

“The Ghana Football Association has absolute confidence in Mr Claude Le Roy and his technical team.

“We are going to back them to deliver. We have one more game to go but we are satisfied. We wanted to win but we would move on,” Randy Abbey told the media.

“Going through the analysis, we have a good coach and we would want to keep him. We have the World Cup qualifiers coming up and we have no plans to change him.

“Le Roy hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to leave,” the FA spokesperson concluded.

Claude Le Roy sitting next to Randy Abbey gave a response and said he was very touched by the supportive stance taken by the FA.

“I want to thank the Ghana Football Association. I am very touched by this support handed me. I have enjoyed every minute of this job and have received support from everyone at the FA, the players and especially the fans,” Claude Le Roy said in his response to the FA’s endorsement.
