Asante Kotoko picked an important win to move second on the premiership standings to keep the pressure on leaders, Kessben FC.

The Porcupine Warriors managed a 1-0 victory against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium courtesy a first half strike by Louis Agyemang.

Kotoko, are a point adrift Kessben, after Bashir Hayford's side could only draw 1-1 at home with champions Aduana Stars.

Kessben had to rally back from a goal to share the spoils at the Sekondi Sports Stadium. Samuel Asiedu put the champions infront before the break. But the home side grabbed a point when they equalized through James Boadu.

However, the day's wrap produced a shocker as New Edubiase stunned Hearts of Oak at the Ohene Djan Stadium, winning the game 1-0.

A late goal by Fuseini Nuhu condemned the Phobians to their first home defeat of the season as Edubiase earned their spurs for a good display.

Awudu Nafiu's goal ensured King Faisal grabbed all three points, beating B.A. Stars 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Liberty Professionals finally picked their first points of the season with a 2-1 victory over Mighty Jets at the Tema Park. A brace by Moro Zakari helped Liberty to the win as Jets pulled one back through Kofi Owusu.

An own goal by Hannan Gyiwa dealt Real Tamale United a huge blow in their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at the Tamale Stadium. Striker Tofiq Alolo put RTU in contention for a point when he scored but Bismark Idan equalized for Chelsea before Gyiwa's own goal separated both sides.

Osei Kuffour's first half goal was enough to hand Berekum Arsenals a 1-0 win against Ebusua Dwarfs.

At the Kpando Park, Heart of Lions shared the spoils with All Stars in their goalless draw game.
