Kwame Opoku on Sunday, scored his sixth goal of the season for Asante Kotoko as the Porcupine Warriors came from a goal down to draw 1-1 at WAFA at the Red Bull arena at Sogakope.

The game gave the platform to Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora to play against his former side for the first time in three seasons following his stint in Tanzania with Azam FC.

Asante Kotoko tried to keep a clean sheet especially in the first 20 minutes and worked hard to attain that as they matched the home side squarely in the opening stages of the game.

Danger man Daniel Lomotey was teed up but the flag was up for offside. However, he hit the ball against Razak Abalora. Lomotey, was again invited into play and wriggled past his marker and quickly unleashed one on target but the ball went over the bar.

WAFA could have punished Kotoko in the 22nd minute after Abalora came out and lost the ball but Christian Agbevor could not punish him as he tripped in the process to get pass the Kotoko shot stopper.

Just before the half hour mark, Daniel Lomotey improvised and slotted the ball past Abalora from inside the box in the 29th minute for the opener.

Before the break, Kotoko right back Christopher Nettey made a surging run and shot at goal but Boliver Owusu grabbed it on the turf.

Just after the hour mark, Emmanuel Sarkodie threaded a ball through for Kwame Poku to strike past goalkeeper Boliver Owusu for the equalizer in the 62nd minute. Michael Dwamena aimed at the top corner with a curler but it was over the frame.

After 80 minutes, substitute Daniel Owusu makes a run inside the box but the final deliver not too good as it goes over.

Points shared and a fair reflection of proceedings after Asante Kotoko put up an improved second half display.
