Kotoko secure Champions League slot after beating Karela in Tier 1 final

Asante Kotoko SC will represent Ghana at this year’s CAF Champions League competition after winning the NC Tier 1 Special Competition.

The Porcupine Warriors beat Karela FC 4-1  on penalties (1-1 full time results) to win the trophy and the GHc200,000 cash prize which was presented to them by NC President Dr Kofi Amoah.

The Western region based side took the lead five minutes after the half time break after Emmanuel Osei Baffour curled one in to bear Kotoko goalkeeper Osei Kwame.

Asante Kotoko however got a late equalizer after Abdul Fatawu Safiu converted from the spot after he was shoved down in the box.

At full-time the game went straight into penalty shoots with Ganiyu,Darkwah, Fatau andFrimpong all scoring for Kotoko.

GFA NC President Dr Amoah and Ms Naa Odofoley pesented the trophy and the cash prize to Kotoko after the match.

Ashantigold will face Nzema Kotoko in the Tier 2 final at he Accra Stadium next Sunday for a slot to represent Ghana in the CAF Confédération Cup Competition.
