Asante Kotoko have secured their place in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup after edging out Aduana Stars 11-10 on penalties on Wednesday.

The match which ended 2-2 in regulation time was the first game in the Round of 16 clashes.

Striker Ahmed Toure canceled out Daniel Darkwah 8th minute opener in the 35th minute to head into the break.

The second half saw Kotoko jump into the lead when Fatau Mohammed rounded the Aduana goalkeeper and a defender inside the box to slot home.

But Aduana were back business with eight minutes remaining when a goalkeeping error by Isaac Amoako gifted Alex Aryee the equalizer.

The marathon penalty session saw Samuel Asiedu miss Aduana’s 13th spot-kick to send Kotoko through to the next stage.
