Asante Kotoko left it late to claim a point off Liberty Professionals on Saturday at the El-Wak Stadium on match-day-22.

The Porcupine Warriors, who were on the brink of a second league defeat managed to salvage a point on the stroke of full-time through a strike by Francis Akwaffo to deny the Dansoman-based side a win.

Emmanuel Osei struck a shot from over 20 yards in the 10th minute to put Liberty in the lead and looked certain to claim all three against an unimpressive Kotoko.

But a counter attack by the league leaders saw Akwaffo lob the ball over the advancing the Liberty goalkeeper for the much needed equalizer and help the Reds to open a 10-point gap at the top.

Tema Youth moved clear off the bottom ranks after beating Berekum Arsenals 2-1 at the Tema Park.

Two goals from the spot converted by Richard Annan proved crucial for Tema Youth as Bright Nsiah scored the only goal for the 10-man Gunners.

AshantiGold maintained their fine form as they shrugged off the challenge of Real Sportive at the Len Clay Stadium.

The Miners picked up a comfortable 3-1 win over the Tema-based team to move fourth on the table.

At the Anane Boateng Stadium, Kessben FC dampened the plight of Real Tamale United, posting a 1-0 win over the Pride of the North, courtesy an Edmund Owusu-Peprah strike.

Wa All Stars were handed a heavy defeat at the Sekondi Sports Stadium as home team, Hasaacas, making a return to the grounds after a three-game ban recorded a 4-1 win, after coming from a goal down.

Daniel Bomfah put the away side in the lead but a brace by David Anars and the remaining two goals from Frederick Quayeson and Isaac Donkor from a spot kick condemned the Blues to defeat.

In Swedru, crisis-hit Accra Great Olympics managed to share the spoils with Gamba All Blacks in their goalless draw game.

Two other match-day22 fixtures would come off on Wednesday after the games were rescheduled to make way for the grounds to host two international matches.

The games involving Accra Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions at the Ohene Djan Stadium and the Baba Yara Stadium match between King Faisal and Zaytuna FC have been rescheduled to June 4.
