Three coaches have been linked to the vacant coaching post at Asante Kotoko following the resignation of Ebo Mends just a day after his side lost to Hearts of Oak in the Glo Premier League.

The club's management have confirmed Mends' departure after lengthy meetings on Sunday and Monday afternoon.

Former coaches Bashir Hayford now with leaders, Kessben FC and Aduana's Herbert Addo are both on the recruitment list alongside former AshantiGold and Heart of Lions man, Hans Van der Plyum.

Mends, making his second stint with Kotoko, interestingly, has not traveled past the halfway mile with the Porcupine Warriors.

His first stint, back in 1999 lasted for 14 games when he was dismissed after a league defeat to Hearts of Oak in Kumasi.

Sunday's loss to their rivals, Hearts, was their second straight league defeat after local rivals King Faisal thrashed them last weekend.

Mends’ future had become untenable but he sounded confident he will hang on to his job.
