Asante Kotoko supporters seeking a revival ahead of their clash with rivals Hearts of Oak after the painful derby defeat to King Faisal have been assured that their recovery to success does not depend on their recent loss.

Last Sunday, Kotoko were beaten 3-2 by Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium while their opponents - Hearts - for Sunday at the same grounds, won 3-0 against All Stars in Accra.

But coach of the Porcupine Warriors, Ebo Mends is taking a consolation from history, as a greater percentage of meetings involving both sides tend to ignore the form guide.

"Hearts have won today but games between us and them follows no form guide. The best team will carry the day. We will prepare well and make sure we get victory."

However, Mends concedes that Kotoko would have to rectify their failings as exposed by Faisal before the Phobians visit.

"Football is a matter of goal scoring and we did not do that today [last Sunday]. King Faisal took their chances. We got chances and messed up. Our condition level is good but as you saw we just did not take the chances we created," he said.
