Asante Kotoko maintained their fine start as they lead at the top of the table courtesy a 2-0 win over Heart of Lions.

Maxwell Konadu's men completed the job within 26 minutes of the first half as Ahmed Toure and Nathaniel Asamoah scored to secure the Porcupine Warriors all three points at the Baba Yara Stadium.

A third minute goal from the spot by Douglas Nkrumah proving crucial as Hearts of Oak kept the pressure on their rivals - Kotoko -, after winning 1-0 against Wassaman in Sekondi.

Berekum Chelsea were looking for a better response at home but were rather stunned by a Louis Agyemang goal in the second half for Medeama as the visitors went away 1-0 winners.

The result has left coach Steve Pollack's position untenable as the champions seek to restructure their technical team after suffering their first defeat of the season.

New Edubiase won at home as in-form striker Emmanuel Baffour scored to give them a 1-0 win over Mighty Jets.

Elsewhere, Wa All Stars returned to winning ways, sealing a comfortable 2-0 result against Bechem United, who are bottom of the table and yet to grab a point after four games.

Eric Mensah put the Blues ahead before Godfred Gyasi finished off with two minutes remaining at the Wa Park.

Goalkeeper Daniel Agyei scored from the spot in the first half to give Liberty Professionals a 1-0 win at home over Tema Youth.

AshantiGold, playing with ten-men rallied back from a goal down to earn a share of the spoils at the Agyeman Badu Park where they drew 1-1 with Aduana Stars.

Godfred Saka put Aduana in the lead on 34 minutes. But ten minutes later, Aaron Amoah was dismissed by referee Cecil Fleischer for hurling abusive language at the official.

With 20 minutes to go, Yakubu Mohammed scored the equaliser for the Miners.

Earlier on Saturday, Kwame Frimpong scored to give Ebusua Dwarfs a 1-0 victory at the Robert Mensah Stadium against Berekum Arsenal.
